The Family History Store proudly supports the hard work and efforts of the many historical and genealogical societies around the nation and the volunteers that make these societies successful.
One of the biggest challenges facing societies today is that of recruiting new members and raising funds to enable them to continue their research and preservation projects as well as community educational programs. Many times these costs are absorbed by individual members themselves dedicated to preserving history for future generations. Recognizing these challenges, and with a desire to assist in their efforts, The Family History Store has launched its all new Society Suppport Program. The new program went into effect on June 23, 2008, with the release of our brand new website. The new program will allow U.S. non-profit historical and/or genealogical societies to register with The Family History Store and will allow customers of The Family History Store to link their purchase to their favorite non-profit society* during the checkout process. The family History Store will then make a donation to that society equal to 3% of that customer's purchase (excluding taxes and shipping charges).
*Societies must hold a 501(c)(3) status and must submit a copy of their "Letter of Determination" if not listed in IRS publication 78 "Cumulative List of Organizations". A "Letter of Determination" is a formal notification an organization receives from the IRS once its tax exempt status has been approved.
Who Can Apply? The Family History Store's Society Support Program is open to all U.S. non-profit, historical and/or genealogical societies and public, non-profit libraries who meet one of the following criteria.
